Speed Indicator Devices (SIDs)
Fairfields Community Council currently own and operate two SIDs, one along Vespasian and the other at the bottom of Apollo Avenue, near the primary school.
We have applied for grant match funding for an additional two devices, to be placed at the top end of Apollo Avenue, near the shops and the other one along Cicero.
Speeding in community areas poses significant risks to drivers, residents and animals. By adhering to speed limits, you help create a safer environment for children playing, pedestrians crossing streets, cyclists sharing the road and both domesic and wild animals.
Slower speeds reduce the likelihood of accidents and the severity of any that do occur. Remember, driving responsibly shows respect for your neighbours and contributes to the overall well-being of your community. Let’s all do our part to keep our neighborhoods safe and pleasant for everyone.
